ACTP Learning Center of the Month!
ACTP is proud to showcase exceptional success and learning centers from around the country. We aim to highlight the outstanding work of our student success coaches, coordinators, directors, and administrators who work diligently to create innovative strategies that engage their students and enhance student success!
ACTP will gladly accept nominations to recognize an outstanding center. Centers of the Month will also be included in the nomination pool for the Annual ACTP Center of Excellence Award, presented at our annual conference!
CONGRATS to Pima Community College, Tucson, AZ.
Highlights:
- Retention: Students who work with coaches at Pima have a 90% retention rate.
- Coach Video: We created a video to sell the value of coaching through the stories of our students. This video educates Pima students, staff, and faculty on the Success Coach role. It’s shown during our class pop-ins and linked in our email signatures.
- Tuition Award: Each campus has a $300 Tuition Award drawing; students who participate in the Strive 2 Finish coaching program and meet certain criteria that semester are entered into this drawing.
- Semester Plan: All coaches across 5 locations are unified in their weekly outreach and approach with students; this ensures: 1) our team is aligned and 2) every student receives the same information regardless of their home campus.
- Class Pop-Ins: We provide strategically timed class pop-ins to help students with their most common pain points at that point in the semester; we share mission-critical information every student needs to know simply and concisely; this adds value, builds credibility, and ultimately drives students to meet with us 1:1.
